Day One - Arrival

Your tour begins with your arrival at Managua airport. If you arrive before 2:00 pm we will travel to San Juan del Sur. If you arrive after 2:00 pm we will stay in Managua for the night. San Juan del Sur is a 2 1/2-hour drive from Managua. where you’ll check in to your hotel, enjoy an evening beverage, or turn in early.

Day Two - El Castillo

Enjoy a morning orientation followed by a Spanish lesson. We will board the shuttle to take a trip to San Carlos. Once in San Carlos we will board a water taxi to El Castillo and check into the hotel.

Day Three - El Castillo

This is a wonderful historic town with much to offer. After Spanish lessons, we will spend the morning walking around the town, talking to locals and taking photography. This is a great chance to focus on people photography. 

The afternoon is a good chance to take a horse to the chocolate factory.

If horses do not work for you we can arrange alternative transport. 

Day Four - Granada

Today we will travel to Granada. When we arrive in Granada we will check into the hotel. This time sunsets and low light photography will be discussed. A late afternoon/sunset boat tour of Las Isletas (small islands) on Lake Nicaragua. After dinner at another amazing restaurant, you’ll have the night to explore the Granada nightlife, or socialize with new friends.

Day Five - Granada

After breakfast and a spanish lesson we will enjoy a guided historic walk of Granada which will allow for some architectural photography.

Day Six - San Juan del Sur

Enjoy a morning orientation followed by a Spanish lesson.  We will travel south of San Juan del Sur and were we will spend the day focusing on landscape and wildlife photography. 

Day Seven- San Juan del Sur

Enjoy a morning orientation followed by a Spanish lesson.  We will travel south of San Juan del Sur and were we will spend the day focusing on landscape and wildlife photography. 

Day Eight - Masaya 

When we have finished lunch we will board the shuttle to Masaya Volcano stopping at the Masaya market for some souvenir shopping before heading to Esteli.

Day Nine- Esteli

We will visit the area of Esteli, After we check into the hotel we will walk around Esteli and become familiar with the city. After dinner your free to explore the city.

Day Ten- Esteli

After breakfast, we will have a tour of a cigar factory and see how the cigars of Nicaragua are hand made. We will stop for lunch and travel just outside of town to Alberto Gutierrez, an 80 year old sculptor/hermit.

Day Eleven- Lake Apanás 

Lake Apanás is a reservoir located on the Río Tuma.  It is created by Mancotal Dam to the north of Jinotega. The reservoir has an area of 51 square kilometers. Many opportunities to photograph lush landscapes and wildlife.

Day Twelve- Managua

We will check into the hotel in Managua and set out to explore Managua, Starting with the Somoza Palace and Lagoon and for the more adventureous there is a zipline located here. followed by visiting the 6000 year old footprints. We will stop for dinner and call it a night.

Day Thirteen - Managua

We will travel to the National Assembly and enjoy the plaza, National Museum and the abandoned church due to the 1972 earthquake which devastatedManagua.

We will continue on to the Malecón de Managua, a great place to enjoy a relaxing time. If time permits and we could visit a show at the Rubén Darío National Theatre

We will enjoy a final night together and review images taken on the trip.

Day Fourteen - Departure

This is your departure day, Final goodbyes and trip to the airport so you can return home with new memories new friends and new photography skills.
