World-class beaches that are hard to beat

Beaches like Maderas (featured here) make the Southwest coast of Nicaragua a sought-after destination for surfers swimmers and sunbathers alike.

Just a short trip from San Juan del Sur there are more then a dozen world-class beaches to choose from and it is easy to hit several in one day.

I personally recommend Maderas with its two bars and great waves and to the south, Romanzo Beach, which is amazing in its own right.
